Special Events

OCCOA offers special events and activities throughout the year and all over Otsego County - including the annual holiday dinners and International Luncheons at the Gaylord Meal Site, Young at Heart exercise classes at the PowerHouse Gym, Saturday pizza parties, and regular ice cream socials. Shopping Tuesdays allow older adults to be transported from the Gaylord Meal Site to major shopping areas in Gaylord via the Otsego County Bus System, and game enthusiasts can play Nintendo Wii at the Gaylord Meal Site.

During the summer, older adults can enjoy a fishing trip to the Otsego Lake State Park barrier-free fishing pier or travel to a Tiger baseball game. They can also participate in such annual events as the Mother/Daughter Banquet and the Irish Party.

Cleanings and adjustments for eye glasses are offered on a regular basis at all the meal sites. Hearing clincis and footcare clinics are available at the Gaylord Meal Site. A variety of games and fellowship are offered at the meal sites in Gaylord, Johannesburg and Vanderbilt. No matter what your interest or need, OCCOA has something for everyone!
