2010 Walk, Swim Skate for Alzheimer's

This fall, thousands of people across the nation are once again “on the MOVE to end Alzheimer’s” by supporting Memory Walks in their communities. You can be one of them by participating in the 12th annual Gaylord Memory Walk, Swim, Skate for Alzheimer’s.  Please be sure to note the following details!

Date:  Saturday, November 6, 2010

Registration: Begins at 8:30 a.m.

Opening Ceremony:  9:00 a.m.

Closing Ceremony:  11:30 a.m.

Location:  Otsego County Sportsplex, Gaylord, Michigan

Please also join us the night before for the Candlelight Vigil!

In addition to the Memory Walk, Swim, Skate for Alzheimer's, the Memory Walk Planning Committee will be hosting its 4th annual Candlelight Vigil to spiritually honor loved ones lost to Alzheimer’s and lift up those who are caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s. Hot chocolate, supplied by Biggby's, will be served afterward. All are invited to attend!

Suggested Donation:  $5/person (children under five may eat free)

All proceeds will go to the 2010 Gaylord Memory Walk, Swim, Skate for Alzheimer's.


Purchase Raffle Tickets!

Memory Walk Planning Committee members will be selling raffle tickets for the Memory Walk, Swim, Skate for Alzheimer’s Raffle.  The first-place prize for the raffle is $1,000; the second-place prize is $300; and the third-place prize is $100.  Seven fourth-place prizes of $50 each will also be awarded.  The tickets are $20 each and only 300 tickets will be sold.  The prizes will be raffled off during the closing ceremony of the walk.

 
 
   You may register as an individual or with a team!
 
 
Those wishing to register now, may visit the Alzheimer's Association's website www.alz.org/memorywalk/overview.asp . Those who would still like to participate can register at the beginning of the event this Saturday. Donations will also be accepted the day of the walk and any remaining raffle tickets will be for sale up until the beginning of the closing ceremony or until they are all sold. It is not necessary, however, to walk, swim, or skate - everyone is encouraged to come to the Sportsplex and join in the fellowship and fun! Whichever way you might choose to support this important fundraiser, please join us Saturday, November 6th, at the Otsego County Sportsplex in the MOVE to end Alzheimer’s!
