Fall Reduction Programs

 
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) notes that falls among older adults (age 65 and older) are a growinng, major health concern.  According to research studies cited on their website, over one in three older adults fall every year.  Falls are also the leading cause of injury deaths among this same population group and have significantly risen over the past twelve years. 
 
The need to address this health threat within the older adult population has become an increasing concern, not only for the CDC, but also for those working in the entire aging network.  Within Otsego County, falls by older adults are common and the resulting consequences have pointed to the need for the Otsego County Commission on Aging to provide information and programs that are targeted at reducing them.  To learn more about the fall reduction programs sponsoredat by the agency, click on any of the links below.
